Sometimes people want to volunteer but can't decide what to do or don't have enough information about who could use them.
Ripon CVS Volunteer Centre keeps information on the volunteer needs of local voluntary and community groups, and statutory organisations, and can access information on the needs of organisations further afield, including overseas.
The Volunteer Centre Manager (VCM) normally invites new volunteers into the centre for a chat to find out what kind of voluntary work would suit them best, and then puts them in touch with an organisation which would most meet their requirements. If the first match is not successful, the VCM will keep trying until a successful placement is found.
