A major new resource for the community initiated by Ripon Council for Voluntary Service
Ripon urgently needs a Community House to provide a central base for local organisations. Ripon Council for Voluntary Service has found a suitable building and is undertaking the exciting challenge of raising £1.3 million to realise this vision.
Community House will offer state of the art meeting and training facilities, counselling rooms, dedicated children's wing, a community café, a one-stop information shop and modern office accommodation - all at low cost and with excellent access for people with disabilities.
Ripon CVS has been serving the people of Ripon and the surrounding rural areas for over thirty years. It has a proven track record of identifying unmet need and finding solutions. It has consulted all voluntary organisations in the City and found considerable enthusiasm for involvement in this project. Currently many of these groups are in unsatisfactory accommodation or operating from people's homes.
The building is now complete and many local organisations have already moved in. There are training rooms, a conference room and several meeting rooms available for hire.
The Community Cafe is also open and offers a wide range of snacks and meals throughout the day.
