Countywide Development Officer

The Association has developed a vision and strategy to take Scouting forward to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. The appointment of a Countywide Development Officer by North Yorkshire County Scout Council is an important element in taking that vision forward in this part of the country.
In this role you will contribute to the strategic development and growth of Scouting and play a key role in the support and recruitment of volunteers. A flexible approach to working is required and will include working both from home and at the County Office, Thirsk. The post will involve working an element of unsociable hours. You will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload. You will need to be enthusiastic and able to enthuse others.
You need to fully understand and be committed to the ethos of the Scout Association. It is essential that you possess a driving licence and are a car owner.
Salary: £22,000 per annum plus car allowance.
This is a two year fixed-term contract without pension provision, with the potential to continue for further years.
Employment will be subject to enhanced Criminal Records Bureau clearance.
